The snow is coming, let's play outside!
What could be better than spending a sunny winter day outside together?
Winter is finally coming back and soon we will be able to marvel at the snow-covered nature again.
There is so much to do and discover.
Today we want to present you some ideas how to spend a winter day outside and what equipment you can find for it in our online shop.
The right clothes
One of the most important things when spending cold days outside is having the right clothes.
It's up to us parents to choose the right products so that our child doesn't freeze and doesn't sweat when moving.
And you know what? Our children only need 3 layers to keep them warm in any weather. It's just important to combine the right layers. We have everything you need, from merino wool thermalunderwear, jumpers and trousers to jackets and ski trousers.
You can read more about the right clothing for outdoor activities in winter and a guide on how to keep your child warm in our blog "Layered look - dress warmly for cold days".
Skiing and snowboarding
There are 171 ski resorts in Switzerland and many more small ski lifts. No wonder there is hardly anyone who has never stood on skis or a snowboard.
Whether it's an afternoon at the small village ski lift or a weekend trip to a larger ski area: skiing and snowboarding is a lot of fun for big and small.
Did you know that you can also find beautiful and safe ski helmets and cool ski goggles here?
Sledging
If the ski slopes are not for you, you should check out the toboggan runs in your area.
Of course, you can also go sledding on a snow-covered slope, in the garden or on an icy path.
If you're still looking for a suitable ride, be sure to check out our sleds.
Ice skating
Another way to combine family time and exercise is ice skating.
You can go to an ice rink or, if you're lucky, there's a frozen lake near you where you can do it. However, please check beforehand whether the ice is thick enough and safe.
With our stylish scarves for adults, no one has to freeze.
Snowball fight
Who can't remember a snowball fight during the break at primary school?
But it's not just kids who enjoy forming groups, shaping snowballs, building a defensive wall and coming up with a clever strategy.
A whole afternoon flies by in no time and in the evening everyone falls into bed tired from the adventure.
The high-quality and well thought-out outdoor fashion of our Swiss label Namuk not only looks great, it also allows you to spend the whole day in the snow without freezing.
Let's build a snowman
Dress warmly, grab a carrot (and maybe an accessory or two like a scarf) and start rolling a big snow globe.
Add a smaller snow globe and another smaller one, a few twigs for arms, stones for eyes and mouth, your carrot for a nose and your snowman is ready.
How about making a snowman of your whole family? Or your favourite animal?
There are no limits to your imagination.
Build an igloo or snow castle
If a snowman is too simple for you, you can try your hand at building a snow castle or an igloo.
Here, too, there are no limits to your imagination and once the construction is finished, you can not only admire your work, but also play with it.
To make sure you don't get cold while you're building, we have a wide range of gloves for big and small from brands such as Namuk, Kari Traa and Mountain Hardwear in our range.
Walk in the snow
What could be better than taking a walk through the glistening snow on a beautiful winter's day?
You're sure to find plenty of trails near you on the internet that are suitable for such a winter walk.
How about a winter scavenger hunt for a change? Water dyed with food colouring can be used to make markings in the snow. This will spice up any walk that might otherwise be a bit monotonous.
And to keep your feet nice and warm, you'll find a selection of high-quality winter shoes.
Laternliweg Schwägalp
The Laternliweg on the Schwägalp is a great recommendation from our colleague Aischa.
It has become a tradition in her family to visit the trail every year during Advent.
The children always look forward weeks in advance to the magical winter hike along the lantern-lit path through the dark forest up to the Schwägalp and the subsequent sleigh ride back to the top of the pass.
The Laternliweg is always open from Thursday to Saturday from November to March.
Squirrel Trail Arosa
We can also highly recommend the Squirrel Trail in Arosa from our own experience.
The name says it all.
Young and old can get very close to the fluffy little animals. If you have unshelled nuts with you, the squirrels will even eat out of your hand.
The path is open all year round. Squirrels do not hibernate and can therefore be observed and fed even in the depths of winter.
The right rucksack
With children you always have a lot of luggage. Whether you want to take nappies, food, sun cream, spare clothes, a second pair of gloves or something else altogether, you definitely need a practical way to carry it.
Whether it's for adults or for your child, you're sure to find a suitable backpack here.
Food and drink
And while we're on the subject of food, you can't do without it when you're out and about.
It's more sustainable than buying drinks and food on the road to bring food from home.
Our lunch boxes are perfect for storing snacks, sliced fruit, nuts, sandwiches and whatever else you want to take with you.
The lunch box by Amorina is made of stainless steel and is completely free of harmful toxins.
We also have practical bottles made of different materials and in various sizes for your drinks.
For tea or punch, for example, the robust stainless steel bottles from 24 bottles are perfect. They keep your drinks cold for 24 hours and warm for 12 hours, and even if they are shaken, they remain leak-proof.
And what could be better than coming home after an eventful winter afternoon and warming up with a cup of tea or a "hot chocolate"?
We offer a variety of pretty mugs in different sizes, with which you can end the afternoon with a hot drink and fortify yourself for a new adventure.
