The Family Festival Urnäsch ‑ Family Package to win!

The best children's bands, games and workshops in idyllic Appenzell

On the weekend of the 7th and 8th of September, the beautiful Appenzell village of Urnäsch will once again be the venue for children's concerts and creative activities based on local customs. You can spend the night in a tent on the festival grounds.

Marius & die Jagdkapelle and Silberbüx on Saturday, Linard Bardill and Zwirbelwind on Sunday are the main acts at the Family Festival Urnäsch 2019. Next to them, the folk music formations Meedle, Vielsaitig and the Buebechörli Urnäsch will perform - an exciting mix of well-known children's bands and traditional Appenzell music.

The focus is also on an action-packed, child-friendly supporting programme. The Appenzell culture can also be experienced alongside the open-air main stage: yodelling and string music can be tried out in the Zäuerli tent. Swinging, farm Olympics, a dialect memory and many other children's games and workshops round off the activities.

Local dishes are prepared in the festival kitchen over the open fire. The small and large guests can take care of themselves at the barbecue stations. And if you want to stay overnight, you can bring your own tent.
