World Downs Syndrome Day #lassmalwirsein (#letusbeus)

At Stadtlandkind, we are committed to inclusion and diversity in all areas of life. Of course, we also support the #lassmalwirsein (#letusbeus) campaign for World Down Syndrome Day.

Let's shape the world together and help people with disabilities take a visible place in society. With #lassmalwirsein we present individual personalities with Down syndrome and would like to invite you to get to know them.

This is me - Elea

7 years, Compassionate, 1st grader, happy, stubborn, sister, friend, daughter and granddaughter, bright, unique and Anna and Elsa fan.

"I love changing my clothes 6 times a day. When I grow up, I'm going to be a model. I have wishes and dreams, just like you I am curious and want to learn new things, just like you. I like other people, I like to be in the centre of things, just like you. Only it's not so easy for me to be a part of society and my parents always have to fight for me and my rights."

This is my brother - Levi

10 years old, 4th grader, heart connector, sensitive, little troublemaker, fun-loving, Peppa fan and loves his family.

His sister Lia tells us: "My brother Levi is a huge enrichment in my life that I don't want to deprive anyone of. His gratitude for the smallest things, his unconditional love and his joy in other people without prejudice have changed the way I look at my life. For me, inclusion is about the fact that it is normal for us when people do not conform to the "norm". That we are willing to engage and learn from each other without one being the teacher and the other the student, but with an openness and gratitude for the other person."

This is our son - Logan

"We are very proud to be Logan's parents. He has made us even stronger. The love he shows and gives us non-stop outweighs everything else around. We don't care what people think, we would choose our Logan Alexander over and over again. He is the little big miracle that was given to us by God. Yes it is certainly not always easy, but what or who is? Everyone who gets to know him is amazed at how sensitive and sweet Logan is. He has so much love and warmth to give. He senses feelings from others very well. Most of all he loves being with his 2 big brothers. He is totally loved and spoiled by both of them. He is the golden treasure of the family."

Because inclusion starts with play: we have had a selection of dolls with Downs Syndrome in our range for years and support institutions with inclusion by also offering their products in our shop. The following is an overview of small Swiss workshops where people with disabilities work.
