Mother tongue: Spring's new clothes

I don't know about you, but the older I get, the more impatiently I wait for the beginning of spring. I wouldn't mind it starting after New Year's Eve - I've had enough of electrically charged cap hair and gloves left in the tram. (That are never brought to the lost property office by a good soul - may the greedy finder's hands at least fall off. Yes, it was an expensive pair, yes, the anger about the loss is big.) Well then, it doesn't help, we still have a few weeks of minus temperatures and floundering weather ahead of us - let's get rid of the waiting time for spring and summer with a look at the new collections that are slowly arriving at Stadtlandkind. Here come my personal highlights.

Bellerose is back!

The label is available again on Stadtandkind for children and adolescents (up to the age of 18, where mummy is allowed to help herself in the wardrobe of her teenage daughter and not vice versa). Ethically justifiable production processes and sustainability are the top priorities for the premium brand. The Belgians are also masters of lovable details: prints, buttons in all shapes and colours and sweet embroideries characterise their unmistakable style. I particularly like the star-shaped blouses and trousers, which are playful but never kitschy. There are also sporty unisex outfits in retro style. The little ones will definitely win the Style Olympics.

Buho Barcelona

What was your favourite garment as a child? Do you remember it? That one piece that you couldn't get off your body and that only found its way to the washing machine with all kinds of parental tricks? And then, at some point, it was completely washed out and still loved because you felt particularly strong and unique in it? It remains to be seen whether this was the childish version of Powerdressing. The head designer of Buho Barcelona was inspired by this memory of her first favourite dress. And I'm in love with the playful frills, I wasn't sure until then how casual they could be. The collection reminds me of summer holidays in the south of France, but I'm sure it's also a good summer in Zurich. Or wherever you are at home. The great pieces are made in Spain, Portugal and France. And yes, there are also some in adult size.

I dig denim

"Little remains true to you as long as a good pair of jeans", this wisdom could come from me. But that's what the designer of the label I dig denim said, which celebrates its premiere at Stadtlandkind. We cheer because we love jeans. Who doesn't? The label from Gothenburg is known for designing future favourite jeans. The miracle pants are now even sold at Barneys in New York. They are a sustainable investment: the pieces have what it takes to become classics, because they are so durable that they can easily be passed on to siblings. In addition, there are shirts without frills and cool clothes that are absolutely suitable for playgrounds.

Les Coyotes de Paris

A weekend trip to the city of love helps against the winter blues. One of my favourite brands, Les Coyotes de Paris, reminds me of this, as it is actually at home in Amsterdam, which is no less worth a visit. Designer Marieke Meulendijks, however, has an excellent understanding of Parisian chic, including the certain "Je ne sais quoi". However, she knows all about the cut and quality of the fabrics, which makes the pieces of the current collection so unmistakable. You should definitely have this label on your fashion radar.

Piupiuchick

Adventurous girls and boys surf the Portuguese label Piupiuchick on the perfect wave. The collection is inspired by life on the Atlantic, by the colours of the fishermen's dresses, the sky, the beach and the sea. For almost seven years now, a small team has been designing the relaxed pieces to be worn, with which you should have one thing above all: lots of fun!

Salt Water Sandals

Last but not least, my absolute summer favourites - pretty, waterproof and indestructible, the Salt Water Sandals. My daughter spent one summer wading through many brooks with them and under full use of the backs of her feet she came to a full stop on her bike - the shoes are still like new. That's never happened before, the predecessors were always worn out by August. This year I will also buy "Saltys". Preferably in yellow or gold or maybe both. I don't say that lightly, but if there's only one pair of shoes in summer, then these ones!
