The hot summer days with water activities at the beautiful Heidsee are still vividly remembered when we recently set off for another eventful family weekend in the Grisons mountains.

Privacy and gourmet breakfast at PRIVÀ Lodge

As pleasant as it is to stay in a hotel with all the trimmings, this time we would like a little more privacy and will stay in a beautiful chalet of the holiday village PRIVÀ Lodge. A fantastic choice, as we unanimously stated after the first visit. The chalet offers so much space, one room for each, three bathrooms and even a sauna! On the upper floor there is an incredibly cosy living and dining area with a fireplace and a large kitchen. We feel right at home.

Adventure in the climbing park and on the longest toboggan run in Switzerland!

As a first adventure we would like to explore the local climbing park and take the cable car to the mountain station, where we are instructed about the safety regulations and special features by a brilliant guide in bright sunshine. Then we set off and explore the rope park at lofty heights. The mountain panorama makes this adventure a very special highlight, and after a good two hours of fun everyone is ready for a little refreshment. The second adventure is already waiting for us.

The longest toboggan run in Switzerland! Over 31 curves and a length of 3,060 m, you whiz down into the valley and if you don't have enough adrenalin after the 5-minute descent, you can take the toboggan run up again and the fun starts all over again.

A feast for game meat lovers

After so much action we treat ourselves back in the PRIVÀ Lodge to a relaxing mountain bath in the in-house spa area. Wonderful!

In the restaurant Gastronomia we are pampered royally, game lovers get their money's worth here in autumn!

Trout fishing with Beat!

The mountain air lets us sleep deeply and firmly and so we start after a refreshing breakfast full of energy with a walk to the beautiful Heidsee. Beat is already waiting for us there, equipping us with suitable fishing equipment and telling us about local fish species and their favourite dishes. According to his tip we are on our way to the "best place for a bite" and throw out our fishing rods. Good fishing! And look there - after only 30 minutes the first rainbow trout bites. A great success - and while one group is now really getting into fishing fever, the others would rather go and feed squirrels. We meet at noon, with a total of 3 trout and have a quick rest, because we are already on to our next and biggest adventure so far: the world-famous downhill slope of Lenzerheide.

Downhill mountain bike for young and old!

Our guides Dimi and Remo help with the adjustment of the bikes, with the right size of the protective equipment and then we're off to the practice slope. Because: who like us never rode a Montainbike Downhill track before, must first familiarize himself with the vehicle and the terrain. So we learn how to shift the body weight correctly while standing downhill and in curves, the exact handling and dosage of the brakes on any terrain, and for the guys of course especially exciting: the jumps. After about 90 minutes of practice it's time to get serious: we get into the gondola with our bikes and ride up to the starting point of the Lenzerheide downhill route. Here the World Cup pros ride and practice the cracks of the Redbull Racing Team. Of course we don't drive the black track, but the blue one. Because even this one is challenging enough for beginners! We drive down the terrain for about 45 minutes, mastering curves and steep slopes, roots, jumps, cow shops and gravelly gravel roads. Phew, it's really nice for the legs - and arms!

Happy and a little proud we meet with our guides at the valley station bar for a little refreshment and let the weekend pass in review again. Both children and adults are completely enthusiastic about the experiences and would absolutely like to repeat one or the other adventure next year.
