ZFF for children: great cinema for big and small! Exclusive ticket raffle!

Cinema is an experience for young and old that the whole family can share. No wonder, that among the thousands of film enthusiasts that the Zurich Film Festival attracts to the cinemas every fall are numerous children and young people.

10 family films from all over the world!

Once again this year, the Zurich Film Festival presents ten exciting family films from Europe, East Asia, Australia and the USA in the "ZFF for Children" series. The selected films offer good entertainment, but also tell current stories and provide insight into important topics of the world.

This program was held for the first time as part of ZFF 2012 and was an immediate success. Due to the positive feedback from students, teaching staff and parents and the increased demand, the program was significantly expanded and integrated into the festival as an independent series.

On the one hand, an audience award is presented in this category, which is determined by the entire children's audience. In addition, an approximately 30-member children's jury, which is newly formed by 10 to 13-year-olds every year, awards the Children's Jury Prize.

Overview: Film program and framework program

The "ZFF for Children and Adolescents" series is divided into two film programs: a public program for children from the age of 4 and their families and a closed program for primary and secondary school students, in which documentary films are shown in addition to children's films.

In addition, film workshops for children and teenagers will be offered during the festival. The different workshops provide insights into the different aspects of filmmaking and equip the participants with film analytical tools. All workshops revolve around film, cinema, acting and social media.
