ZFF for Children: Great Cinema for Young and Old

Have you always wanted to be in front of or behind the camera? Or know how a film is made? Exchange ideas with others after a visit to the cinema? Or just lean back in a comfortable cinema seat, wait for the magic moment when the lights go out and experience a great exciting film? Then ZFF is the right place for you!

At the 17th Zurich Film Festival, many family films for young and old will be screened again this year. In the series "ZFF for Children", the ZFF shows a selection of the most beautiful children's and family films of the year. In the films, the young protagonists not only experience exciting adventures, but they also embark on wonderful journeys, make new friends and learn to deal with prejudices and conflicts. The audience is also taken on a voyage of discovery through different continents in this section. Our children's films are always family films as well and offer the best entertainment for all ages, taking up highly topical issues of our time and discussing them in a child-friendly way. Foreign language films are shown in their original version and dubbed into German on location.

Children's jury and workshops - spread throughout the year

Standing in front of or behind the camera is a dream of many children. The year-round project "ZFF for Children" makes this dream come true. In workshops with professional filmmakers, children aged 8-13 discover their talents and can develop their creativity. By trying things out for themselves, they also learn to better understand how audiovisual content works and what effect it has. The screening of high-quality children's films, Q&As with the attending filmmakers and a special children's jury are the other pillars of the project. The ZFF offers various workshops on acting, animated film, camera, film music and many more.
