Win tickets for the family musical "The Snow Queen"

Once again this year, the Claudia Corti children's dance theater is bringing a musical for young and old to the stage of Theater Winterthur.

This year it is the classic fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen. First published in 1844, the story is full of adventure and excitement, showing that love and friendship can overcome all obstacles. The story begins in the run-up to Christmas, which people celebrate with great anticipation. The Snow Queen cannot bear this joy and decides to do something about it - she destroys the magic mirror. The splinters of the mirror are supposed to fill the world with evil powers. One day, Kay, Gerda's best friend, falls under the spell of these splinters.

The spell turns his heart cold, he becomes selfish and mean and thinks he is the best and the cleverest. To prove that he is braver than other children, Kay ties his sledge to that of the Snow Queen. Unfortunately, he can't untie the knot and is carried off to the far north. Gerda does not want to abandon her friend and decides to search for Kay, no matter how dangerous the journey may be.

On her journey, she experiences many adventures and encounters a sorceress, a duchess, a prince, a talking crow and a reindeer. She is captured by robbers and has to make her way through a snowstorm and past snow monsters. In the end, Gerda finds Kay and his heart thaws again.

This story is danced, sung and acted by more than 200 children and young people aged between 4 and 24. The youngest members of the troupe, playing the roles of huskies, forest animals and roses, are making their stage debut this year, while some of the oldest members have been with the company for more than 15 years. All together, whether amazed and for the first time or already with the experience of around 200 performances, contribute to a colorful, emotional and rousing stage experience. Until December 10, 2023, "The Snow Queen" will be performed 12 more times on the stage of Theater Winterthur.
