These special napkin rings are made by the Association "Tejedoras Juanita" (ASTEJU) consisting of 250 women, mainly single mothers, from the community of Sandoná - Nariño.

For these women, their work is essential, as it is the only means of income for their families. These women are also the inheritors of that special craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation.

With great dedication, they weave the iraca (leaves of the Panama palm) into various products.

The Colombian label TAUTA by founder Maria Lorez is a real treasure trove of unique handmade artworks for every home. Ethnic accessories and tablewear produced under fair conditions and through traditional craftsmanship. Born in the highlands of Colombia, Maria Lorez spent her early years in Pereira and later moved to Switzerland. Through the different cultural influences of her two home countries and her love of travelling, her fascination for traditional handicrafts developed. She combines the time-honoured with contemporary design, giving it a new lease of life.
