Lenzerheide ist zu jeder Jahreszeit eine Reise wert!

Lenzerheide is worth a trip at any time of year!

We still have vivid memories of the hot summer days with water activities on the beautiful Heidsee lake when we recently set off for another eventful family weekend in the Grisons mountains.

Privacy and gourmet breakfast at the PRIVÀ Lodge

As pleasant as a stay in a hotel with all the trimmings is, this time we want a little more privacy and will be staying in a beautiful chalet in the vacation village PRIVÀ Lodge holiday village. A fantastic choice, as we unanimously agree after the first viewing. The chalet offers so much space, with everyone having their own room, three bathrooms and even a sauna! Upstairs there is an incredibly cozy living and dining area with a fireplace and large kitchen. We felt at home straight away.

Adventures in the climbing park and on the longest toboggan run in Switzerland!

The first adventure we would like to try is the local climbing park and take the cable car to the mountain stationwhere we are briefed on the safety regulations and special features by an even brighter guide in bright sunshine. Then we set off to explore the rope park at lofty heights. The mountain panorama makes this adventure a very special highlight, and after a good two hours of fun, everyone is ready for a little refreshment. Because the second adventure is already waiting for us.

The longest toboggan run in Switzerland! Over 31 bends and a length of 3,060 m, you hurtle down into the valley and if you haven't had enough adrenaline after the 5-minute descent, you can take the run up again and the fun starts all over again.

Feast for game lovers

After so much action, we treat ourselves back at the PRIVÀ Lodge a relaxing mountain bath in the hotel's own spa area. Wonderful!

In the restaurant Gastronomia we are spoiled like royalty, by the way, game lovers get their money's worth here in the fall!

Trout fishing with Beat!

The mountain air lets us sleep soundly and so, after a hearty breakfast, we start full of energy with a walk to the beautiful Heidsee. Beat is already waiting for us there, equipping us with the right fishing equipment and telling us about the local fish species and their favorite dishes. Following his advice, we set off to the "best spot for a bite" and cast our rods. Good luck! And lo and behold - the first rainbow trout bites after just 30 minutes. A great success - and while one group is now really getting into fishing fever, the others would rather go and feed squirrels. We meet up at lunchtime, with a total of 3 trout, and have a quick bite to eat, because we're already off to our next and biggest adventure yet: the world-famous downhill slope in Lenzerheide.

Downhill mountain biking for young and old!

Our guides Dimi and Remo help us set up our bikes and choose the right size of protective equipment, and then we're off to the practice slope. Because: if, like us, you've never downhill mountain bike course Before riding a bike, you first have to familiarize yourself with the vehicle and the terrain. We learn how to shift our body weight correctly when riding downhill in a standing position and in bends, how to handle and dose the brakes precisely on all types of terrain and, of course, the jumps are particularly exciting for the boys. After around 90 minutes of practice, it's time to get serious: we get on the cable car with our bikes and ride up to the starting point of the Lenzerheide downhill course. This is where the World Cup pros ride and the cracks of the Redbull Racing Team practice. Of course, we don't ride the black slope, but the blue one. Because even this is challenging enough for beginners! We ride down the terrain for around 45 minutes, mastering bends and steep slopes, roots, jumps, cow fields and gravelly gravel roads. Phew, that really works the legs - and arms!

Happy and a little proud, we meet up with our guides in the valley station bar after changing for a little refreshment and review the weekend. Both children and adults are completely thrilled with their experiences and are keen to repeat one or two of the adventures next year.
