Our journey in stages
Two families, one idea - in fall 2012 we found
Stadtlandkind. Back then, I was still small, brave and had a lot of coffee.
Our online store goes live on February 23, 2013 - with 8 brands and a mini-warehouse in the middle of a small office in St.Gallen. Shipping: lovingly done by hand. The shelves: rather wobbly.
We’ve won the Swiss E-Commerce Newcomer Award—and we’re amazed. At the same time, we’re launching our own brands, Pirates & Ponies and Kindish. Xenia becomes our first employee—and remains an indispensable member of our family to this day.
New look, new logo, new claim: The Swiss Family Concept Store. Our store finally gets a responsive design. Mobile first? We were there.
We move our office to Frontify in St.Gallen. And: We start working with Klar.Doch, the support room foundation, and integrate young people with support needs into our team. A partnership that continues to this day.
Second place in the Swiss E-Commerce Award in the Small Business category. Our warehouse reaches its limits and moves again. We officially become an apprenticeship company and accompany our first commercial apprentice on her way.
Because we’d had enough of single-use packaging, we developed the Kickbag: our very own reusable shipping bag that stays in circulation and conserves resources. Today, we ship about 75% of our orders in it—a small bag with a big impact. And with it, Stadtlandkind is also becoming climate-neutral. For us, this is a step driven by conviction—and a beginning that will lead to more.
Our warehouse moves again - this time to Spühlstrasse. With more space for parcels, ideas and team growth.
New year, new premises: our office becomes part of the Lattich area in the St.Gallen freight yard - urban, inspiring, with plenty of space for development (and coffee).
10 years of Stadtlandkind! For a decade now, we’ve been supporting families with well-designed products, sustainable ideas, and a lot of heart. What started small has now become a place where quality and responsibility go hand in hand. To celebrate our anniversary, we’d like to say thank you—with our limited-edition gym bag, which brings our philosophy into everyday life, and a big birthday giveaway.
We’re creating a re-entry job for people in the secondary labor market—because, for us, inclusion means more than just words. At the same time, we’re launching a partnership with rheinspringen and offering hands-on logistics placements lasting several months—a valuable part of an integration program for refugees.
Over 60 Swiss labels are now part of our world—including many young talents and small brands that are boldly breaking new ground. We believe in diversity, in local ideas, and in the power of growing together. Step by step. Together.
In 2025, many things will be new - but nothing will be arbitrary. Our brand relaunch goes live: with a fresh design, the switch to Shopify and a new ERP system. At the same time, we are returning to what defines us: less mass, more class. A curated range that shows attitude. With the start of our seventh KV apprentice, we are setting another example: We are Family.
