Safe comfort for babies

A baby bouncer provides your little one with a cosy place to discover the world. From around three months, babies can be placed in the bouncer for short periods. The gentle movements soothe them and support body awareness. It’s important not to leave your baby in the bouncer for too long: in the early months 20 to 30 minutes at a time is enough, later no more than two hours per day. A good harness keeps your child secure while you free your hands to look for a pacifier.

Functions & materials

When buying a bouncer, look for a sturdy frame and non‑slip feet. A softly padded seat that can be adjusted to several positions offers comfort and supports the spine. High‑quality materials such as breathable cotton or recycled polyester are easy to clean. Some models convert into a reclining surface so your baby can rest comfortably. The same criteria apply to high chairs: they should be stable and free of sharp edges.

Development & everyday use

A bouncer not only provides safety but also allows your baby to take part in family life. They can watch their surroundings and hear your voice while you cook or work. From about six months you can feed your child in the bouncer until they are ready to sit in a high chair. An ergonomic seat promotes healthy posture and ideally grows with the child. Additional accessories like seat reducers and safety bars provide extra stability.

High chairs: selection & safety

There are different types of high chairs: shell seats with trays, combination table‑chair sets or adjustable ladder chairs that grow with your child. Make sure the chair is stable, provides good back support and is easy to clean. Wheels should be on no more than two legs so the chair can’t roll away. A separate tray prevents your baby from reaching hot plates. Never leave your child unattended in a high chair and place it far enough from windows or cookers.

Play & variety

Beyond bouncers and high chairs, other movement options provide variety. Swings and gym rings support balance and are fun. A rocking horse or ride‑on toy helps develop motor skills and offers first adventures. Ensure all play equipment is age‑appropriate and made from safe materials. This creates an engaging daily routine in which your child feels at ease – in the high chair during meals, in the bouncer while resting or playing on the floor.
