Unsere Einkäuferin im Interview mit der Textilrevue

Our buyer in an interview with Textilrevue

Interview in the current Textilrevue with Roberta - Co-founder and buyer at Stadtlandkind.ch

What new impulses do you see for the season
spring/summer 2020 season?

Pitti Bimbo had many inspiring collections to offer this year. The range of natural materials such as organic cotton and linen in natural colors stood out in particular. The sportier brands remain colorful, with floral prints. And stripes are back.

What are the top sellers at Stadtlandkind?

Climate change and the increasingly extreme hot and cold months are shifting the seasons and the transitional periods are getting shorter. Customers' purchasing behavior has changed to the extent that they are buying more impulsively, in line with the current weather. Function is also very important: swimwear with high UV protection in top quality, jackets that are breathable and weatherproof, underwear made of merino wool and silk for temperature regulation.

How do you approach the issue of sustainability?

Sustainability has been a key issue since our company was founded. We are in close contact with our suppliers and are constantly discussing production, materials, packaging, transportation routes and delivery times. At Stadtlandkind, we also offer many young Swiss designers and labels a platform for their ecofair and locally produced products.

How do you combine experience and emotion in e-commerce?

When we abolished the girls/boys categories in our store, it was an experiment. We are convinced that there is no need for gender-specific categorization of clothing or toys; it is restrictive and inhibiting.

How do NOS and seasonless collections perform in the children's segment?

In Switzerland, a seasonless collection is rather difficult due to the seasons. However, we do have labels such as Gray Label or Minimalisma, which create classic NOS items from organic fabrics in timeless colors. And Mini Rodini produces the classic "Pico" jacket in a different color every year.
