After our visit to Spieleland last year, it quickly became clear that we wanted to spend the night in the vacation village! The children were so taken with the cleverly furnished mini-cottages in the middle of the theme park, and we liked the idea too. Adventure!
No sooner said than done, we arrived on a Saturday afternoon in drizzling rain and a light breeze. Not exactly the weather you'd want for a visit to an amusement park, you'd think. But we were given "bad weather tips" at reception, and by the time we had moved into our Captain Bluebear's cottage, the last doubts had finally vanished. We put on our jackets and headed outside to discover the Spielland.
In addition to the popular free-fall tower with the mouse, Captain Bluebear's rubber boats, the chocolate factory, soccer goal wall shooting, the traffic school including a driving test and a ride on the new BIO Metro, we visited the animation studio, where we learned how to make our own animated films. The new chicken coop is new and great even in wet weather, where the kids can let off steam.
In the evening, after enjoying a hearty buffet, we ended the evening playing games together in the juice bar. And looked forward to spending the night in the Blaubär cottage.
Sunday greeted us with sunshine and we were able to try out all the familiar and new water attractions. Wave riders, water police, gold panning, fire department and, of course, alpine rafting.
After an intensive, eventful weekend, we are certain: Spieleland, we'll be back. Maybe even in the fall vacations?
