Die Magie der Weihnachtszeit

The magic of Christmas

Christmas, there was something. Now it's very close, this greatest of all celebrations in red and gold, the smell of freshly baked cookies in your nose, can you smell it yet?
I have to admit - until two years ago, I was a Christmas grouch. I liked being far away under palm trees, but at least always without festive decorations. A Christmas tree never passed my front door, not a fir branch with baubles on it, not a sprig of mistletoe, not a tinsel leaf. There were just a few days off and too much feasting, you felt sluggish by the second holiday at the latest and were glad when it was time to get back to everyday life.

For the last two years, however, everything has been different and I spent that Christmas with a bigger belly than usual. No marzipan stollen inside, but my daughter. She was due to be born in January and was too impatient. There were candles burning on the table that Christmas, it had to be a golden Advent ring. This time there was a silence that touched our hearts, there was the miracle we were waiting for, thick flakes floating down from the sky.

Now the little Christmas girl will soon be two. And I'm about to fill the most beautiful of all Advent calendars. This year we finally got hold of "In the woods"! In fact, the calendars are the Hermès bags of Advent feverish mothers, and the waiting lists for them are just as long...
We'll have a tree whose top tickles the ceiling. Cut by dad himself. Underneath will be the presents, chosen in October because I can hardly wait,
to see the joy on Ada's face.

We'll sing and fill baked apples with raisins, pull thick hats over our ears and admire the colorful lights in the city. I must be turning into a festive fan right now. The greatest gift comes from my daughter: she has brought the magic of Christmas back to me.

Leoni Hof

Räbeliechtli songs and the new Tom Ford movie - somewhere in between
is where Leoni Hof's life takes place. She is culture editor at the magazine
Bolero magazine and has been a mother for two years. Since then, the 38-year-old has continued to
what's going on in art at the moment, where you absolutely have to travel (now with a child)
or which is the best yoga studio in town. But still so much
more. The German has been living in Zurich for eleven years and will now be introducing us here in the
blog about her everyday life as a working mom. About what she
what moves her, what she likes and what she doesn't like. We are looking forward to it, Leoni!
