The best children's bands, games and workshops in idyllic Appenzellerland
On the weekend of September 7 and 8, the beautiful Appenzell village of Urnäsch will once again be the venue for children's concerts and creative activities based on local traditions. You can spend the night in a tent on the festival grounds.
Marius & the hunting band and Silberbüx on Saturday, Linard Bardill and Zwirbelwind on Sunday are the main acts on Family Festival Urnäsch 2019. They will be joined by the folk music groups Meedle, Vielsaitig and the Buebechörli Urnäsch - an exciting mix of well-known children's bands and traditional Appenzell music.
The focus is also on an action-packed, child-friendly supporting program. Appenzell culture can also be experienced alongside the open-air main stage: yodeling and string music can be tried out in the Zäuerli tent. Swinging, a farm Olympics, a dialect memory and many other children's games and workshops round off the activities.
Local dishes are prepared over an open fire in the festival kitchen. Guests of all ages can prepare their own food at barbecue stations. And if you want to stay overnight, you can bring your own tent.
