Cinema is an experience for young and old that the whole family can share. So it's no wonder that among the thousands of film enthusiasts who attend the Zurich Film Festival to the cinemas every fall, there are also many children and young people.

10 family films from all over the world!

Once again this year, the Zurich Film Festival is presenting a series of "ZFF for children" series presents ten exciting family films from Europe, East Asia, Australia and the USA. The selected films offer good entertainment, but also tell current stories and provide an insight into important world issues.

This program was held for the first time as part of the ZFF 2012 and was an immediate success. Due to the positive feedback from students, teaching staff and parents and the increased demand, the program was significantly expanded and integrated into the festival as an independent series.

In this category, an audience prize is awarded, which is determined by the entire children's audience. In addition, the Children's Jury Prize is awarded by a 30-strong children's jury, which is made up of 10 to 13-year-olds each year.

Overview: Film program and supporting program

The "ZFF for Children and Young People" series is divided into two film programs: a public program for children from the age of 4 and their families and a closed program for primary and secondary school pupils, in which documentaries are shown alongside children's films.

Film workshops for children and young people are also offered during the festival. The various workshops provide insights into the different aspects of filmmaking and equip participants with film analysis tools. All workshops revolve around the topics of film, cinema, acting and social media.
