For 25 years, Lorena Canals, designer and founder, has focused on the development and production of rugs - especially for children's rooms and for families with high quality, sustainability and design standards. The incredibly soft rugs made of cotton and wool are machine washable. Lorena Canals rugs undergo an elaborate, handmade manufacturing process based on the selection of the best raw materials, the use of natural dyes in the production process and compliance with quality and safety regulations.

Lorena Canals - the inventor of the washable rug

Lorena Canals founded her brand in Barcelona in 1998 when she couldn't find anything suitable to clean her children's favorite rug easily. In a moving interview with Spanish television, she explains how this idea gave rise to the first washable rug - today, Lorena Canals is a globally recognized name for aesthetic and sustainable living.

Creative textiles that make life easier
The range extends from child-friendly, washable rugs to cushions, poufs, baskets and play rugs. Each piece is handmade, made from 100% natural cotton or wool and treated with non-toxic dyes. Particularly popular are rug shapes such as the "Cookie" or the Woolable® range - high-quality classics that stay clean in the washing machine and make children's rooms more colorful.

Sustainability at the heart of the design
Lorena Canals is a pioneer when it comes to environmental friendliness: backwashing excess water, zero-waste processes, recycled textiles under the RugCycled® brand and patented washable wool rugs demonstrate a deep sense of responsibility. Production takes place in India and Barcelona - under fair conditions, with the support of local artisan families and educational opportunities for their children
