Natural materials for children's feet

Children's shoes should support the development of little feet. Natural materials such as leather, cotton and sheepskin are breathable, temperature‑regulating and durable. Leather molds to the foot, absorbs shocks and is robust. Sheepskin regulates temperature and manages moisture, while cotton is soft and skin‑friendly. Avoid synthetic materials like plastic that trap heat and moisture and crack easily. Natural shoes ensure that children's feet grow healthily.

Fit & comfort

The right fit is crucial. There should be a thumb's width of space between the big toe and the tip of the shoe. Velcro fasteners or elastic laces make it easy to put shoes on and take them off and allow individual adjustment. Look for a flexible sole that supports rolling. For winter, choose lined models; in summer, lightweight sandals or low shoes. Let your child try the shoes on and walk a few steps to ensure nothing pinches.

Style & combinations

Shoes can enhance an outfit. Pair sporty sneakers with jeans or trousers for everyday wear. For festive occasions, ballerinas go well with a dress or a skirt. In transitional seasons, little boots with a soft lining keep feet warm. Don't forget to wear comfortable socks or tights underneath to prevent chafing.

Care & sustainability

Natural materials are easy to care for. Wipe leather with a damp cloth and condition it if necessary to keep it supple. Cotton and fabric shoes can often be washed in the machine at low temperatures. Let the shoes air dry and use shoe trees to retain their shape. When shoes become too small, pass them on or donate them. This supports a sustainable life cycle and other children can enjoy beautiful shoes.
