Those first steps
It’s a magical moment when your child takes their first steps. Before that, socks or soft booties are enough, because walking is best learned barefoot or in non‑slip socks. As soon as little ones explore the outdoors, they need shoes that protect their delicate feet without hindering natural development.
What matters
Good children’s shoes offer a mix of support and flexibility. A pull loop, adjustable Velcro straps and a slight toe rise make them easy to put on. The toe box should be wide so toes can move freely. A protective, flexible sole and a firm but flexible heel cup support the foot without constricting it. Above all, the shoes should not slip and should follow the roll of the foot.
Materials & comfort
Natural materials such as soft leather, cotton or felted wool adapt to the foot and are breathable. Leather is robust and comfortable, cotton absorbs moisture and is suitable for light summer shoes. Wool fleece warms and regulates temperature – perfect for the transitional season. Pay attention to high‑quality craftsmanship so nothing pinches or rubs.
Shoes for every season
For summer, sandals with flexible soles provide plenty of air and support. Sneakers are ideal companions for everyday wear and can be combined with jeans or dresses. On cold days, lined boots or cosy slippers keep little feet warm. Soft socks made of cotton or wool complete the outfit and provide extra comfort.
Combining & care
Shoes should be regularly checked for the right size, as children’s feet grow quickly. Combine shoes with appropriate clothing depending on the occasion: sporty sneakers for play, elegant boots for festive days. Care for shoes by airing them and letting them dry after wear. Good footwear will then accompany your child safely through every adventure.
