Isabelle and Delphine, the founders of the French label Emile et Ida, maintain long-standing contacts with their selected production partners in France, Portugal and India.
"We select our partners around the world based on their expertise and their focus on environmental and social standards.
Respect for each person and their work, compliance with labor standards (environment, hours, wages) and honesty are some of the values that are important to us. As well as the loyalty of our partners, some of whom we have been working with since our label was founded.
We take care of these values and relationships by working hand in hand through exchanges at daily meetings with Laurinda, Vikram, Cédric and all those who accompany us. These links become stronger every year as we meet them all at the production sites we visit once a year.
From the beginning, our decision to produce in Europe has led our steps to Portugal, where the work on knitwear is well known. 90% of our pieces are made there and pass through France to our warehouse on the European route. Thanks to this geographical proximity, we can limit our carbon footprint. In addition, we work with factories that have a responsible reflection on use, waste and water treatment."
