What better way to get to know a wine than to hike through the region it comes from? From the dry slopes of Valais to the mild lake regions, Switzerland offers a wonderful variety of landscapes and grape varieties to discover.

To get to know her favorite winegrowers and their products, oenologist, journalist and adopted Swiss Ellen Wallace traveled the country's roads and hiking trails. She has selected 50 picturesque itineraries that cover all of Switzerland's wine regions and invariably end with a glass of wine in hand. Each route contains information about the hike, a detailed route description with practical information and a presentation of the cellar and a selected wine.
