The Incredibly Old Cat

Grandma’s cat is very special—older than any other—and has been with Grandma ever since her own childhood. Grandma tells this story over and over again, and her grandchild listens to it every time with eyes shining. When Grandma was still little, the cat was in a serious car accident. A short time later, she came back looking surprisingly different: smaller, shyer, but healthy.

“Grandma, couldn’t it also be that…” “Wait a minute! The story isn’t over yet.”

With great warmth and a twinkle in her eye, a story unfolds about the close bond between Grandma and her grandchild—about trust, imagination, and the seven lives of a cat. We follow Grandma from her childhood into old age and witness how the cat has been by her side through all these years—sometimes mysteriously, sometimes miraculously.

In the end, you realize: Some secrets bring people together. Precisely because they remain unspoken, they create closeness, a sense of security, and a little bit of magic. By the way, the Easter Bunny and St. Nicholas know this, too.
