Alpine Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra), also known as Arve, Arbe, Zirbel, or Zirm in Austria, is an evergreen conifer. Swiss stone pines are particularly notable for their robustness and grow primarily at elevations between 1,500 and 2,000 meters above sea level. The Swiss stone pine can grow up to 25 meters tall and live for up to 1,000 years. The Swiss stone pines used in Saint Charles’ organic Swiss stone pine products come primarily from Tyrol (East Tyrol, South Tyrol, North Tyrol) and are distilled on-site by our partner in the Lienz district of the state of Tyrol.
