The French label VEJA was founded by two friends who knew each other from school. At the age of 23, Sebastien Kopp and Francois-Ghislain Morillion decided to found an NGO and investigated various projects and companies around the world with regard to environmental protection and socially fair employment conditions. What they saw disappointed them, so they decided to create the first sneaker brand that respects people and the environment. VEJA was born. VEJA uses only fair trade organic cotton, natural rubber made from renewable raw materials from the Amazon region, recycled plastic bottles and plant-dyed leather. Production takes place in Brazil, in factories with the highest social standards. VEJA invests in its employees instead of advertising.
