UV protection for children's skin

A child's skin is thinner and contains less melanin than an adult's. That makes it particularly sensitive to sunlight and in need of extra protection. A UV swim shirt stays put during water fights and Nuggi adventures – unlike sunscreen, which can wash off in the pool. Look for garments certified to UV Standard 801 with a UPF of 50+, which block about 98 per cent of harmful rays and are tested when wet or stretched. That way your little water lover can splash happily while you relax.

Eco-friendly materials & certificates

Today's UV tops are made from recycled fabrics such as polyamide or polyester blended with elastane for plenty of stretch. Some brands use Econyl®, a regenerated nylon made from old fishing nets, and avoid harmful chemicals. The fabrics are lightweight, breathable and quick-drying. Choosing a shirt with certifications like UV Standard 801 or OEKO‑TEX means you are giving your child and the planet the best possible care.

Comfort & easy care
