Peace (North-South)

Peace begins with small, everyday gestures: a “hello,” a smile, a hug. Even saying someone’s name correctly can bring peace. It can be that simple to build closeness and show understanding. Peace requires courage and, at the same time, provides a sense of security. Thanks to peace, even the youngest children have a voice. Peace starts small, but it can make a big difference.

Miranda and Baptiste Paul have written *Peace*, their first picture book together for NordSüd. The story is a personal one for them: an ode to peace, filled with warmth, hope, and humanity. Estelí Meza created the illustrations in the warm colors of Mexico, inspired by the positive messages of the text, and completed them during the lockdown in Mexico City. *Peace* is her debut in the U.S. and Europe.
