CD: Wild Boar Hunt Marius & die Jagdkapelle

When Walter Andreas Müller turns into Brünzli and curses away without restraint, and when the polar bear is crouching in the fridge, Marius and his hunting band aren’t far away. Since 2005, the Eastern Swiss artist has released a new project every year—whether it’s a music album, a radio play, or a picture book with a CD. “Wildsaujagd,” the latest creation from his studio, fits right into this series. In addition to 15 catchy, upbeat songs that straddle the line between children’s songs and slapstick for adults, the stylish digipak also includes a board game. And so the wild boar outwits the hunters, the snails philosophize in the rain, the end of the diaper era is celebrated in Village People style, and the zebra—whose teeth are as striped as its coat—wishes it had brushed its teeth better. “Wild Boar Hunt” is Marius & the Hunting Band at their best—52 minutes of good cheer for young and old alike.
