MADE BY ADULTS IN EUROPE
The French-speaking Swiss brand produces its clothing and accessories in a family business in Portugal, which has been awarded the European Ecolabel (no. PT/016/04). This confirms our committed responsibility for the entire life cycle of a product, from the extraction of raw materials to production, distribution, use and sensible recycling.

Christie and Prune, the designers behind the label, know exactly who makes the products and regularly visit the factory, maintain contact with the producers and employees and enjoy the important mutual exchange.

PRODUCED WITHOUT HARMING THE ENVIRONMENT
L'asticot works with organic and recycled raw materials. The sheep that produce the organic wool, for example, are reared in optimal conditions and feed on organically grown produce. This means no chemical hormones, no pesticides and no genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The wool is treated naturally and no viscose yarn is added. By buying organic cotton, for example, l'asticot is supporting the development of a market that respects both farmers and the environment. l'asticot's hemp supplier has the Fair Wear Foundation label (no. PT/016/04), which is dedicated to improving working conditions in the textile industry.

LONG-LASTING QUALITY
Clothing that lasts longer has less impact on the environment. The l'asticot product line has a number of tricks up its sleeve to extend the life of clothing. These range from the use of robust natural materials such as GOTS-certified organic cotton jersey and organic wool to fun unisex designs that make it easier to pass on garments.

SKIN-FRIENDLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
L'asticot refuses to use chemicals in its dyes that could be harmful to health. The colors of the fabrics are gentle on the most sensitive young skin from day one. Laboratory tests have even shown that garments using potentially hazardous chemical-based dyes must be washed at least 11 times to achieve the same skin tolerance as a L'asticot garment at the time of purchase.
